Hi all...im undergraduate and required by my department to do master and phd in financial maths. The problem is I have to do msc by research but then i dont have experience and any idea in preparing the research proposal for application. In fact I don't have the title yet since background in financial since my previous study is management maths. I have done reading journals and article in this field but unfortunately I dont understand them at all because they are to theoritical.I need your help regarding the potential title in order to preapre the research proposal ASAP. Really need your help on this matter. TQVM

Dear Rida,

I read your post. Since you don't have any background in the financial mathematics field, I think it is better if you do your master by coursework. After you done your master by coursework, I think you shouldn't have problem to write your proposal for your PhD.

So, my suggestion is discuss with your head of department, if he allow you to do your master by coursework, then your problem will be solve.

I would suggest that you come to Pusat Pengajian Sains Matematik (PPSM),Fakulti Sains & Teknologi, UKM and discuss your problem with the experts here. In UKM, particularly PPSM there are a number of experts that can help you out with the proposal if you really intend to do the MSc by research. I won't suggest any names here but once yuo are at PPSM, please go straight to the Main Office (Pejabat Am) PPSM and people there will gladly guide you to the experts.
